Corn has always been a large part of American agriculture. The native Americans grew it as a staple of their diet and its pictured here at the first Thanksgiving dinners. Corn is still a strong foundations of the American farming industry. Besides eating it, we make so many things with corn. Food products like corn oil for cooking, breakfast cereal, chips and tortillas, corn syrup sweetener. Much of the corn that’s grown is used for ethanol fuel and livestock feed. All in all, corn is one powerhouse of a vegetable. Grow corn in your garden along with your broccoli, peas, carrots, and eggplant. Or just grab your crayons and color it.
