The elephant is a truly fascinating animal. The African elephant is the largest animal on land, and the 3rd largest animal on the planet, after Blue Whales and Colossal Squid. We’re familiar with them, so we forget how truly unique looking they are. Their big ears help them cool off. They flap their ears like a big fan to make a breeze. Their long trunks are used for SO many things. They breathe with it, smell with it, hold onto things and make their trumpet sounds. But the most interesting thing they do with their trunk is to suck up water to pour into their mouth to drink, or to spray onto their body on a hot day like a cool shower, or even to spray at each other for playtime. Play isn’t reserved for the young. Elephants play until they’re 40 or 50! That’s quite impressive, since Elephants usually live to about 60. If you love elephants, why not color them.
