Jesus Christ died for our sins. I never quite understood this growing up Catholic, no matter how many times I heard it. When Jesus was crucified, he took all the evil of the world with him. It was absorbed and swallowed up through death. When Jesus was resurrected, these sins were washed clean. Gods love and forgiveness conquered all of the sin in the world and we were forgiven and Jesus loved us enough to die for us. Jesus’ life was equally profound.
